Our Governance

A Commitment to Transparency, Accountability, and Excellence

At Regional Development Australia Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast (RDAMBSC), we are committed to the highest standards of governance. We believe that strong governance is essential for building trust with our community, ensuring the effective use of public funds, and delivering on our mission to create a more prosperous and sustainable region.

Our governance framework is designed to ensure that we operate in a transparent, accountable, and ethical manner, and that we are always working in the best interests of the Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast and Noosa communities.

Our Governance Structure

RDA Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast is an incorporated, not-for-profit, community-based organisation. Our governance structure is designed to ensure that we are accountable to our community, our government partners, and the public.

The RDA Charter

Our operations are guided by the RDA Charter, which sets out the roles and responsibilities of RDA committees and their members. The Charter ensures that all RDAs operate in a consistent and transparent manner, and that they are focused on delivering outcomes that are aligned with national and regional priorities. The key principles of the RDA Charter include:

Focus on Regional Development: RDAs are required to focus on activities that will drive economic growth, create jobs, and enhance the quality of life in their region.
Collaboration and Partnership: RDAs are expected to work in partnership with all levels of government, industry, and the community to achieve their goals.
Evidence-Based Decision-Making: RDAs are required to base their decisions on sound evidence and analysis, and to regularly monitor and evaluate their performance.
Accountability and Transparency: RDAs are accountable to the Minister for Regional Development and are required to operate in a transparent and open manner.

The Regional Investment Framework

Our investment decisions are guided by the Australian Government’s Regional Investment Framework (RIF), which provides a coordinated approach to regional development. The RIF ensures that government investments are targeted to areas of greatest need and opportunity, and that they are aligned with the strategic priorities of each region. The key principles of the RIF include:
A Place-Based Approach: The RIF recognises that each region is unique and that investment decisions should be tailored to the specific needs and opportunities of each place.
A Focus on Outcomes: The RIF is focused on delivering tangible outcomes for regional communities, such as jobs, economic growth, and improved quality of life.
Collaboration and Co-investment: The RIF encourages collaboration and co-investment between all levels of government, industry, and the community.
